We are excited that you are considering registering for the Above Rubies Family Camp at the Pine Valley Bible Conference Center. We are praying that you have a safe & fun trip to the campsite and that your family will have an awesome weekend meeting other families and having a great time together learning.  It is our hope that Jesus touches the hearts of everyone attending & that we all  leave with a renewed vision & purpose for our families. Here are a few things to remember:

*Check in begins at 4 p.m. on Friday in Worthington Hall. You will receive your rooming assignments and keys for lodges there.  Check the Pine Valley map to find these meeting rooms and driving directions to the camp. There is no Friday dinner, please eat before coming to the camp. Worship at 6:00 and the first session will be at 6:30. There will be no Sunday lunch this year as well.

*B.Y.O.B. -Please remember to bring your own pillows, bedding, towels, pool towels, jackets, flashlights, fans for cooling your room off (the window box fans work great at night) toothbrushes, personal care items, diapers, wipes, slings, backpacks, bed rails (the upper bunks have a rail provided, just a small piece of wood near the ladder), strollers, swimsuits-one piece only for girls or wear a t-shirt over other styles.  Dorms have all twin bunks. Lodges have twin bunks and a queen bed. Bedding is available for 15.00 per bed but must be confirmed 10 days before the conference.  The dining hall only has a few high chairs so snap on chairs & strollers will help, but there is limited room to maneuver a stroller after everyone is in and seated. Although there is a lot of grass, there is dirt that attracts the children to it and they get very dirty playing and climbing on rocks. It comes off easily but pack accordingly for changes (spare shoes and plastic bags to throw dirty stuff in is recommended!)

*Toys, arts supplies and sports equipment that is brought should be labeled, shareable, breakable or loseable. Help watch out for chokeable toys or crayons on the floor around the babies. Think of quiet activities that your children enjoy that can be done during the group sessions for the younger ones, such as coloring or reading. There will be areas in the meeting room set aside for these activities, or they can sit with you. There will be toys there as well and some coloring materials set up on a table.

*Worship-If you can assist in this area please contact us.

*Saturday Night Family Concert- This is a chance for your family or selected members of it can present something for the group. It does not have to be anything elaborate or even musical. Skits, readings, solos, lead us in a song, etc. We will open up the stage for a time and then move on to the speaking sessions.

*Most meeting times are separated so parents can provide their own childcare outside of the meeting room and have special times with their children enjoying the grounds. Children are welcome in the meeting room but we need to monitor the noise level so everyone can hear. It has been our past experience that 25 "quiet" children can make it very loud in the room.

*PVBCC offers a zip line, archery, hiking, a pool with water slide, a slip-n-slide down a hill, a playground, a tire swing, a game room, aero ball,  basketball courts. On Saturday we have the zip line and attendants for an hour in the afternoon.   Please monitor your children at all times, we do not want to misplace any of these little ones and it is very easy to do (as we know from personal experience).  We do not want things broken in the game room due to lack of supervision & Pine Valley’s rules are that children under 18 are with an adult at all times. In the past it has been the older ones who have broken things on the grounds accidentally, not the little ones. Let’s be a good example of a family camp and leave the place as nice as when we arrived.

*Adult talking in the meeting room (especially in the back) is not permitted during sessions, please step outside to carry on an interesting conversation or save it for the breaks.

*A love offering will be taken on Saturday evening for Colin & Nancy, as they do not charge a speaker’s fee for the conferences. Books and manuals will also be available for purchase.

*The four meals served will be typical Standard American Diet so plan accordingly if your dietary needs will not be met with this type of fair. They have a salad bar for more options. There is a refrigerator in Worthington Hall that you can store food (label it) & medications if need be. There are outlets in all the rooms if you have a cooler you can plug in. It is fine to keep food in your rooms but please keep the floors clean so as to not attract unwelcome, hungry visitors (meaning bugs, not other families' children)

There will be a "freebee" table in back of meeting room that you can donate "stuff" to and take stuff from. Clothes, books, curriculum, etc that will bless others. We ask, however, that you be responsible for taking back what is not taken that you brought because we do not have room in our vehicle to take the leftovers to a charity. Whatever is not taken will be tossed unless someone volunteers to take it somewhere after the retreat. Also, you may bring info on your business to place at back on a designated table for this purpose and those who wish to contact or speak to you about it may do so between sessions. We do not endorse any particular person or product represented.

Please ensure you have emailed back your waivers for your family, thank you!
